about

This song features the call of the small endemic New Zealand owl known as the Ruru or Morepork. It is inspired by my love of Twin Peaks.

All profits from the album go to the non-profit organisation The Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi Inc, the volunteer group helping with conservation on the island where Henika made the majority of her field recordings.

lyrics

A fleeting feeling
A cool summer evening
I am haunted by your song
Guided by moonlight
Deep in the dark woods
I could wander until dawn

Lost in a dream
I'm walking on a moonbeam
Lost in a dream
I'm the forest queen
And the owls are not what they seem

Stillness at midnight
Nocturnal delight
I hope morning never comes
A moonlit meadow
I dance with my shadow
Until darkness turns to light

Lost in a dream
I'm walking on a moonbeam
Lost in a dream
I'm the forest queen
And the owls are not what they seem
